Perhaps choosing to do what he was doing, choosing to do what he lived for, was wrong. Perhaps, just possibly, Light wasn't the paragon of the future, the embodiment of the times to come. It was possible, yes, but not in the mind of Light. And hell, it was pretty unlikely considering this movement unto itself.
Light had traversed, as was his general state, to Kumogakure, and was now passing through the mountains and lakes shrouded in clouds while beams of sunlight punched through any holes they could find. It was here that Kumogakure ninja trained, made themselves stronger for the warring world and all it's requirements. There was a poorly marked pathway that one could traverse around the gaping holes in the ground filled with water, and their reverse, the tall rises of rock that blocked out huge portions of the sky as a traveller moved through them. Light was happy, though his expression was bland, flat and unassuming. Even his walk, the slow steps he took, allowed his cloak to cover almost the entirety of his person as he moved. Light himself now looked rather odd, like a black mass floating over the ground slowly heading towards something.
But what?
"Hail, you who walks cloaked." said a man as he suddenly rose from the edge of a lake Light was sauntering beside. While caught off guard, Light was neither startled nor made nervous by this appearance. Obviously a man of the nearby village, Light wondered if he was simply out training or if this was his post. He wore a flak jacket, grey in color and only host to one shoulder, the other side simply wrapping around his torso. On his back sat a pair of short swords in sheathes. His hair was dirty blonde, and his skin was light. He was exactly was Light imagined a Kumogakure ninja would look like.
"Hail." Light said simply, clearly not interested in conversing or even stopping for this fellow as his footsteps continued down the shoddy "path" he walked. The Kumogakure shinobi was quick to start walking behind him, which Light did not appreciate. "Cloaked one," the man said, waiting for a response he'd never receive before continuing. "I am Jin and I must ask you your business, we in these mountains do not oft get visitors, and visitors such as yourself who bear-" Light stopped walking, causing the Kumogakure ninja to stop walking and talking about two meters behind Light. Over his shoulder, our hero looked at the younger shinobi with a serious glare, waiting for him to finish what he was saying.
After a moment, Jin hesitantly continued. "Uhh, who bear the look of a wealthier man. Most of these lands are poor, but your cape.. I do not know where I have seen it, but I do know that it means wealth. Forgive my lack of understanding, and my prying, cloaked one, but just who are you?"
Light sighed, and turned to fully face the guard. His tone was made to confuse, to help intruders into believing that he was an easily dominated man. Light guessed that this younger fellow before him was actually important, and likely quite capable in at least two types of combat. Obviously he was able to use Suiton, a fact stated by his entrance "Jin, was it...?" Light said, "I am simply better."
Initially, this would make no sense to Jin, until his eyes registered that Light had moved to the spot directly in front of him. He felt a pain in his chest, a twinge of fear that he disliked feeling. The fact that Light had moved without the Jin noticing was extremely surprising to Jin, who always prided himself on his sheer speed. This man, "Better" as he called himself, had shown Jin that even the fastest fly had to watch for the swatter. It was all for naught though, his learning and his fear, and even his presence near the entrance to Kumogakure. He felt light-headed and dizzy, while the world started to spin. He looked down in his last seconds and found out the pain in his chest had not been just fear. Light, upon moving towards him, had somehow pushed his fingers and palm through Jin's heart without even making a fist. The open palm and straight fingers allowed Light to slice with his hands as weapons, so long as he had the strength to wield them. It was only then, when Jin saw his fate, did he remember where he'd seen the cloak. "He Who Seeks.." were his last words. Light pulled his hand upwards, causing the top of Jin's torso to be brutally ripped in half. With another strike from his fingertips, he severed the head from the falling top-half of the torso and caught it with his other hand, looking back in the direction of Kumogakure. "I bring you death." he said fondly, beginning again to walk towards the gates while carrying Jin's head by his hair, the eyes frozen forever in terror.
