Minaru's eye dropped gaze as she met him with not only questions, but her stare. The Uchiha sighed, and began to explain.
"I have killed, I will not lie. I did so, without reason, as that was my duty. I have slaughtered children who were thrown onto the front lines like myself, just without proper training. These villages we know, they all do they follow the same patterns and regardless of who wins, it will be a failure. This is nothing more then a power struggle, 'peace' as Konoha calls it will never come. Konoha cannot even protect it's own within the village. The Chunnin Exams take lives just as wars do, just as fights; and we pass those off as a test and only the strong survive. But, as Shinobi of the Leaf, do we not protect our home, our people, those that are weaker then us? That's what I was taught when they were training to be a murderer. I have seen time and time again of their wrong doings, and I will no longer go along attempting to force myself to believe it's right. I feel we may believe the same." Minaru stretched his fingers as blood continued to flow.
"A dear friend of mine was taken in the middle of the night, during an exam. Kumo-nin sent Spider into the Forest of Death and they took her life. This was the final straw, it showed me the reality of our villages situation; of these nation starting to form." he said as he brought his field of vision up. His good eye met with hers, "I know... I know you said not to compliment you, but.." he nibbled his lip in angst-y anxiety. This woman seemed far more intelligent then any babbling monkey he has spoken to recently, maybe she was worth actually keeping and not taking her from the village to kill off.
A soft blush reddened his cheeks, and it was sort of visible regardless of how bruised and cut his face was. "But, uh. you know it might just be from my injuries, though I must say..." he smiled softly as he touched his chest with his free hand. "you take my breathe away. You are intelligent on top of all else, I see you and actually making a difference in this world. If you think it can be helped that is." he chuckled and held out a hand to shake hers.
Thoughts of Joy started to fade into the back of his mind, this girl was something else, maybe he would see the real Light with someone so bright in his life.
