What Makes the Sands Shift [Current|Open]

In the Land of Wind, it's common to find many folk in parts such as these with a thick layer of clothing; and this wasn't due to the temperature, in fact, it was the whipping winds which sand blasted Travelers. Many people fear the sands for obvious reasons, if you weren't kill from heat stroke, the beast would get you and if you could manage the beasts, the storms would over take you. Male and Female shinobi alike brave these lands on a day to day, however; none of them are  insane enough to go out without protection. Whether it be, of arms or armor, people tended to load up before taking off. 

People whisper of a strange outside from Kirigakure no Sato, snow-white hair layered like freshly fallen snow was set beautiful to frame the soft alabaster skin of her face. The woman was only ever seen in am off-white dress which came only to mid thigh. The fabric was sheer and could almost be considered see through, however it was draped well across her chest; modesty. Her name wasn't know well within Sunagakure no Sato although people to claim to have seen her either call her crazy or an Angel. 

People say she seemed to just be staring off into the distance, as if she was calling to the horizon. And the turn sands and sandpaper winds seemed to move, around her; as if she had a force field surrounding her. Many men thought it was simply a mirage, other feared to greatly to get close. And Elysium, she was just trying to find herself.

Heterochromia is a beautiful mutation of the iris, hair or skin. It's true meaning is simply, difference in coloration. This 'mutation' was something Elysium wore without grief or care. Physique wasn't something that she tended to notice or even care about. The young woman had a left eye which radiated oceanic blue, fierce and strong like the very depths themselves. Elysium's right eye was a piercing light green which seemed to penetrate the very souls of those she looked at. People couldn't help but stare, and Elysium couldn't care less, if she even noticed them. Day to day affairs always seemed to drag on for her.

"When I get control over these sands, I can go home... right" The young Kaguya girl thought to herself, the only conversation she's really had in a long time. She lead a life of solidarity; simplistic, but not fulfilling.

She was only a half mile out of the gate she sat, looking out at an incoming Sand Storm. The soft golden brown particles made the air glow. 

"We will just see about that little Sand Storm, won't we?" she said in monotone aloud, as if she was spitting trash talk at an enemy. Her finger tips rolled the end of her dresses hem up and back out. Was she nervous, or excited, no one will know when she always wore the same expression on her face.

Elysium's hand raised in the air, her hair flowed with each movement of her body. She screwed her feet deep into the sands beneath her as the sand around her bare toes and heel pulled away, helping her root in. The storm raged forward as the cusp of it sand blasted her face, softly burning her with the sand paper like winds. Heterochromic eyes scanning the mass of sand and wind. 

A few onlookers gathered behind the girl, they were previously fleeing the oncoming terror, but they only made it a few meters past her before turning and screaming. "Are you crazy! What do you think you will do, fight the storm off." The young Kaguya woman held her ground, and in monotone replied to them, "Yes." Her face unchanged and body without motion. She held a tight pose, both palms facing out and her hand held like a paw with unsheathed claws at the ready. Her right arm was at rest parallel to her center of gravity while the other lay across her brow. Her expression was at a constant solid state of, what onlookers inscribed as 'unfeeling'. Fear nor anxiety could be seen.

She rotated her arms and spun in the depths of the sand she stood, creating odd movements like an interpretive dance, and as the full storm was about to roll through. Sweeping the area before her with both hands, she clapped immediately as the sand dispersed instantaneously. Small particles of sand and dust fell to the ground to settle, the raging storm was over.

"Was that crazy?" she asked the onlookers without turning a head to officially address them.

The bystanders were to shocked to speak and could only run away in fear; Elysium raised gracefully from the sand and she made a few steps to the sand and began to dance along the path towards the Land of Fire.

A few miles in, the girl could feel the sands pull her back. It was as if a force was telling her to return to the city of sand. Being someone who always listens to her gut feelings, she turned and made her voyage back. The sandy winds raged around her as her odd natural defense held up against the storming sands.

Elysium looked to her feet after dropping to a dead stop, the tips of her toes where bleeding and the bottoms were swollen from all the walking. The hard constructed paths were nothing like the forgiving dunes she loved to walk. Each step was as awful and pain filled as the last; a look of irritation consumed her profile as the sands underneath her began to whip and stir. Wind began to blow as her makeshift dress turned with it. A sort of levitation took place as her body lifted into the air. A large cloud of sand held her up as she sat cross-legged on the magic carpet. She flew at high speeds for the village.

By passing over top the village gates, Elysium drifted to the ground in an alley by a near by sheltered market. Covered with blankets to shield consumers from the twisting sands. As the sand began to disperse, she dismounted with one hand, landing just in the shadows near the opening the the market. Many people walked like zombies through the streets, weaving in and out of the fish channels within the crowd.

The young lady was always observing the social interactions of people without ever partaking. No one really ever understood her lack of empathy, or any ability to relate to others. Sociopath, maybe?
