The Addition of Character Stats

Though I am new and haven't seen much combat on this site yet, I do have to make a request for some sort of stat system. One that is preferably easy to understand. While it would likely complicate things, it would also make some things less abstract and up for debate in fights. If a model needs to be found, then I'm sure we could borrow some of the formats from other naruto RPing forums, or just come up with our own.

It's already being worked on, although; most people know when they have been beaten. A loose basis for stats is fine, but if you put no effort forth into RPing do you deserve to win?

I have noticed a reference to a different RPing site several times now. You can argue that people know when they are beaten, but then you could also argue that people know that they shouldn't abuse techniques such as Hiraishin and Edo Tensei. But those are banned, likely out of concern for balance and fear of abuse.

Adjusting your stats to fit the character that you build IC is effort into RPing. If you want to avoid some of the future problems of seemingly limitless chakra and OP soft stats partly caused by the ambiguity of what really is super fast or super strong, then character stats that coincide with RP is a step in trying to work with that.

These stats are built entirely by RP, so to suggest that no effort in RPing has anything to do with having a stat system is quite a stretch.

What kind or progress is there on this system? Is there anywhere we can put in our input and try to help? Or is it a only of the brass kind of thing?

Uh, it's not my gig. I would have already put one in place; with the Holidays in season, it's hard for people to do things.

It is, but in our spare time, we could, you know, pitch in thoughts and ideas if we knew how much was already done.

Well, that's the point of this section, to fed ideas and bring up concerns. In regards to pitching in, if you have an idea post it, albeit, the mods tend to have a way they like to do things.

Which is why it would be nice to have an idea of what progress they've already made on it (if they even plan on having such a thing) to save the effort of making a square wheel.

We do plan on putting a system in place. As it is the holidays where we live it is first priority to focus on family and RL things.
