Tatsuo reached his left hand behind his head and rubbed at the back of his hood while he grumbled to himself. "It's a shame you're not accepting the hug and sing-singing, but that's fine I guess." He lifted his shoulders into a slight shrug and took a single step back to put a bit of distance between himself and the boy. Last thing he wanted was to kill a child. He shook his head and sucked in a deep breath of air before he said, "What she said, " and then nodded towards Taemi. After a moment, he said turned his gaze back to the boy and said, "What's your next move?" Of course, his tone was still light and playful.

"Do I need to show you?" he grunted after failing to make eye contact. Minaru wasn't a man of genjustu put of ninjustu and kenjustu. His hand firmly wrapped around the grip of the handle. His katana was a very simple short blade that had seen many fights and was confident in his ability. Minaru didn't feel the need to use flashy weaponry; decor and look always brought down the effectiveness and lowered the integrity of the blade in his eyes; and his eyes saw all. The Uchiha placed his thumb underneath the cold metal of his katana's hilt.
"So, you wish to have me participate in a 'friendly-spar', eh?" Minaru sounded confused, but there were no hostile natures and the flow of chakra coursing through the both of them only seem to fluctuate in shock with his appearance and not in attempts to maintain a lie. Did he make a mistake? "As a warrior and former Jounin of the Leaf, I don't think I ever found sparring to be friend, when you've seen so much death, fighting for fun is never the same." his eyes become more intense and his glare grew darker. "In the end, someone loses and what's to gain from that when the experience of failure overshadows anything you could possibly have learned?"
Like most Uchiha, he thought highly of himself, his ability and talked the talk letting his pride lead the way. Thinking that only a life on the battlefield was for him. The young boy's black hair raveled down his back and swayed with each motion of his neck. Like a black lions mane, the animal watched. He though about his past, and growing up in the Leaf. He never real had friendly spars, most the kids he fought, even in his Academy days, became seriously injured. His thoughts raced,
'Would the woman be upset if I fought and lost? What if I fought and killed this man? Would how would she think of me then? I can't let what happen to Joy happen too.' sorrow sank in his eyes as his Sharingan faded for a moment while the dull rock of coal took over. Why was he putting himself in situations like these? Maybe, he just wanted to be dead so he could find Joy once again.
With his hand still clasped on his katana he spoke in a whisper, "Show me what you can do, it is obvious you want her." the defensiveness rang out like a bell. Squaring himself up, he drew his sword, staring the man down with abysmal eyes. Was that, jealousy?
"They say you can see a man's soul through his eyes, well.. look into mine. What do you see?" he almost whimpered as the cold midnight eyes cascaded vision, again staring the man in the eyes. Was he smart enough to avoid even this gaze. With his free left hand, he made a small single hand sign. The soft sounds of metal scrapping against metal could be faintly heard as Minaru slowly drew his blade, letting his murderous crimson eyes set back in while still attempting to maintain eye contact.

"It's a shame you're not accepting the hug and sing-singing, but that's fine I guess."
Eye-roll.
"What she said,"
Shrug.
"What's your next move?"
Her head turned one way. Then the other.
"Do I need to show you?"
Shake of her head.
"So, you wish to have me participate in a 'friendly-spar', eh?"
Shrug, an 'ehhh', as if weighing the option.
"As a warrior and former Jounin of the Leaf, I don't think I ever found sparring to be friend, when you've seen so much death, fighting for fun is never the same."
True, but she couldn't help but eye-roll.
"In the end, someone loses and what's to gain from that when the experience of failure overshadows anything you could possibly have learned?"
She didn't find that all true. Experience was always gained, even with loss.
"They say you can see a man's soul through his eyes, well.. look into mine. What do you see?"
She didn't even bother looking. In fact, her gaze focused on his gesturing hands and retrieval of the blade from its sheath. Taemi sighed loudly and obnoxiously, as if to express her disdain and irritation for the situation, "Hn, why don't you both just head your separate ways and forget this silliness? We can train another time, Tatsuo. Let this kid go back to his homeland and preach his sorrows." Chakra would course through her being, a subtle aura of invisible heat surrounding her figure. It cloaked her being, and for the moment, it was undetermined what the woman would utilize this manipulation for. But, they'd likely be unaware, given the two weren't in a 'close' distance from her.
She didn't want two males bickering over her. This was ridiculous -- suppose she was too much of a tomboy to accept something so... corny, maybe?
But, then again, she might find entering the fray enjoyable.
Tatsuo shifted his footing against the ground and sucked in a deep breath of air before he shook his head and grumbled softly to himself. The male soon allowed a smile to cross his almost hidden features once more and said, in response to the male's words, "I didn't say that... I said I would rather hug it out or sing." He snickered to himself and then drew in a deep breath of air, one that allowed his chest to expand outwards, even as he leaned into a hunch-back stance. When the man spoke again, about his rank and where he was from, Tatsuo's calm brows furrowed and then relaxed back into place as he continued to hold true to his happy nature. Attempting to keep on the positive side, he said, "Sparring is the forger of people. It tells you who your friends are, who your enemies are. Sparring is how you become better in general. If you fight someone, and you lose, it makes you want to get stronger, does it not? Be it friend or foe. If you wish to make a place in this world, you forge your own destiny. But if you do not fight, how can you know what strong is? How can you be able to define strength? The answer to that?" He giggled and said, "You won't. Just like losing... you gain knowledge and experience from winning and losing."
After speaking, Tatsuo reached behind him and reached into a hidden port on his cloak. His hands could be heard fiddling around around the area and then a shifting was seen beneath his cloak before he pulled his hands forward and exposed a treat that was pink in color and surrounded by powder. He pulled it open and sighed happily as he smelled the sweet scent upon the air. This was one of his sweet-cakes, homemade, too. He eye'd the man slightly, but kept more of his focus on his friend, Taemi, just as he raised the cake to his slips and took a bite. "Oh... that hits the spot, " he said with his mouthful, which caused the words to become broken and lost. His nostrils flared again and he took another bite, just as the male pulled free his weapon. Tatsuo said, "Hey! You better be careful with that thing! You could put out your own or someone's eye!" He jumped back a little and grumbled low and deep within his chest before he shook his head. "You don't need th..." He trailed off and stuffed the rest of the cake into his mouth. Jaws then made quick work on the pastry and he soon swallowed with a happy sigh. Today was starting off as a good day, too! But this child wouldn't stop his fun, oh no... not today!
But then the boy went in and called him out, said something about seeing the soul in one's eyes. Tatsuo sighed again and said, "That isn't the case. The eyes can be deceiving. You see, if you truly wish to know someone, the art is in the way they move; the way they see life. Without understanding their motive for moving, you can never understand them as a person. One's eyes can show sorrow, but for what purpose? Could it be that one is sad they have not killed enough? Perspective... it is a funny thing, child." His words were soft as he spoke, song-like even, and that made his smile grow ever-so-bigger. When he made up his mind to fight the young man, he shifted his left foot forward - the movement hidden beneath the cloak he wore, but soon found himself stopping, for it was Taemi's voice that threw him off this time. To her words, he replied, "That can be an option as well. Fighting does have it downside..." He shook his head and then giggled towards the boy, just as he dropped his hands back beneath his cloak, put away his wrapper, and kept his hands at the ready, but hidden. None never knew what those around him were planning, and although Tatsuo seemed oblivious all of the time, he was quite aware of his surroundings. And yet, the male did not meet the eyes of his current... friend! The unknown boy!

Minaru felt as though, this man may have an upper hand if he truly was competent. Maybe he should play things out and see what comes of it. His Sharingan faded away once again, showing that he could be lowering his guard; however, that was never the case. Reflexes like a bunny on cocaine. Sheathing his sword, he sat cross-legged.
"Maybe I have just been gone to long from structure. What little of my good nature that was seems to have disappeared after my 'Fam'." his words were so snarky as he spoke of family. Obviously, bitter. With reason.
"They will get there's soon, but.. I uh, am having no luck with bounties and as-.." he cut himself off, not wanting to let on he has been an assassin since he left the Leaf. "Assessment Contracts of any kind." throwing out a random slug of words with confidence. It didn't matter if they knew what it was. How could they? "So, can I go with you guys? Mission means money? I maybe young, but I'll run through you; I mean down the enemy." he chuckled and looked at the floor. Hopefully, he could make some money, maybe even have fun within Sunagakure. All kinds of it.

Seems the two were finding a better solution than expected. Emitting a sigh of relief, Taemi shook her head, muttering. "Well, if we plan on taking up a bounty or mission, we should get on it -- otherwise the early bird will snatch the worm up." The woman was organized and fashionably on time; it was never wise to show up late to something, never. Except when destruction was caused... but even then, it was something that probably could have been thwarted or prevented if one was early to the party, she supposed.
Either way, she'd begin to wander off to the HQ. It was ultimately their choice if they followed. If they wished to bicker and spar, then she'd catch up with Tatsuo later -- and it would be her impromptu exit.
Tatsuo shifted his gaze between the two people and then tilted his head in the right direction. His left hand rose from beneath his cloak and he moved to slide the tips of his digits against the hood of his cloak. He blinked a little, and then stared between the two people in front of him with a blank, but hidden expression. And then Taemi was walking off, and the rest was up to him and the boy. He parted his lips and sighed as if he somehow managed to avoid an unnecessary confrontation. Phewing, the male then smiled and stretched out while he turned around in a circle and then extended his arms out and he made random noises with his mouth as he suddenly began to run around the area and then circled the boy. When he stopped, his hands dropped and he said, in a rather giggity tone, "Well, what is it going to be?"

Minaru smiled as he stood, revealing his Mangkeyo Sharingan, two separate eyes were inside his head. "I'll be back with a question for you in time, but I have to meet with someone soon."
